Day 17

I am grateful for the beautiful snow we received today.

I live in Michigan, so we were hit with a lot of snow today. I’d say about 8 inches. My lucky kids had school off today and tomorrow, it was canceled this evening. My daughter helped me shovel four times with three neighbors houses too.

While the snow fell down today, I couldn’t help but be grateful for the beautiful moments that appeared throughout the day. They reminded me how special I am for this exact second, for this hour, this day. For each snowflake that landed in my way to be shoveled or kissed my nose. I just felt extremely lucky for it all.

I am grateful and blessed to be a mom and stepmom because of how many situations I get to help with and for all the love I get to give and receive. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

With all my heart, thank you for Jon because of how he really makes me laugh hard, for being an awesome dad and stepdad, and for loving all of me fully. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am blessed for Aurora because of her big smiles, crazy clumsiness, and for lighting the mood whenever she can. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am grateful for Aidan because of how he looks at life and for giving really good hugs. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am truly blessed for Noah because of how he looks out of others, how he is a hard worker, and for being a great boyfriend to Courtney. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am very grateful for Cole because of his great laugh he has, for not taking life too seriously, and for his willingness to help out whenever he can. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am so lucky and fortunate for my parents because of the childhood they gave me with my imagination, and for showing me their love for shoveling and to take care of my elders in the neighborhood. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am incredibly grateful and so happy for Mary Jane and Tom because of how they continually look out for us, for sharing us stories that are funny and silly, and for all the love you give my family. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am so grateful and blessed for Mark and Tammy because of how they continually love my family, for all the fun competitive games they make eruptions of laughter happen, and for all the fun in the sun. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

With all my heart, thank you for Scrappy because of his warm cuddles, for still wanting to play, and for being a great sidekick. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am so blessed and thankful for our home because of how warm and inviting it is, for the charm it has, and for keeping my family safe and warm. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am truly happy and grateful for Jon’s dream job because he gets to work with Cole, Noah, and Bobby daily, because of the abundance of joy and money it brings his way, and for taking pride in a hard days work and what he and his boys accomplish daily. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am so incredibly blessed to be able to write, draw, and create daily because it brings me joy creating stories and illustrating them, and because I hope to share joy, wonder, and imagination with kids and hear them laugh, relate, or get lost in the Bermuda Triangle with my stories. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am blessed and truly grateful for the Universe because of how the Universe always has my back, for all the unexpected joyful surprises, for giving me this life to live, and for letting me love fully, openly, honestly, and gratefully. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am extremely blessed for the snow because of the quiet and stillness that comes along with it, for making everyone go outside and talk with their community, and for the sheer beauty and glitter it adds. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am lucky and blessed for our abundance of money because of how it pays for our bills and much more, for letting me be generous to others, and for letting Jon and my family play in the sun easily. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am very blessed for my friendships and cousinships because of how everyone communicates differently but sometimes about the same things, and for letting myself vent and listen to vents of friends helping everyone let go quicker. Also, for the laughs, I love laughing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am grateful for the surprising friendships too because they each me a little bit about myself and they also teach me how more and more similar we are to each other than I realize. It’s nice being understood and understanding something you might not have even thought of before. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am blessed and grateful for Orion and Sirius because of how they love so well, for being fun to watch discover the world around them, and for their cute cuddles. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am blessed and truly thankful for the trees because of their grand beauty, for how they heal so much, our air, soil, and water, and for being still and so loving. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am super grateful for all my plants that I take care of because of how they clean my air, for how they enjoy my singing, and for allowing me to love them and to receive their love. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a great day and remember to ask yourself “Are you aware?”

February 15th I will be doing The Magic by Rhonda Byrne 28 day challenge. On the 15th you should have a list of wants written about your relationships, health, finances, and emotions. I will bring up this list more the week before I start her book. Just putting it out there if you’d like to join me for a 28 day challenge of gratitude. It’s a little more than just writing a gratitude journal, but it doesn’t take up too much time in your day. Something to think about.

Enjoy your surroundings!

I’m constantly surrounded by farts, in all serious I am. Three stepsons—12,17,20 one gaseous daughter of 11, and a hungry husband, whose been trying to ditch oven me for the last three years! (I’m a ninja though, so he hasn’t succeeded yet 😉) Right now, I’m making my way through College- about a year and a half left, and then I’ll have a Bachelor’s degree in English and hopefully a book published or at least become a literary agent. In these posts I’m going to cheerfully complain about my kids complaining and the awful smells I endure on a regular basis. Hope ya’ll have fun reading from this artsy Michigander! 😏
