Day 2 of 28

(gratitude challenge journal-a-long!)

“Don’t let anyone dim your light.”

Sacred Forest Oracle Deck.

I’ve been starting off my night routine with asking from my angels and ancestors for one card. They’ve been pretty on point which is truly nice. This one says to step up and don’t get knocked off your path. I hear you and I am grateful for the guidance.

Today was busy for me, but with that said I am grateful for the energy I had for today. It’s still snowing which is simply beautiful and magical. I’ll always love the snow. My one cousin makes fun of how much I love snow, but it’s the truth. I’ve always lived in Michigan, U.S., so the snow takes me straight back to my childhood and how much I used my imagination with glitter glistening quiet all around you. Made forts, followed and looked up different animal tracks, stood in the middle of the road at night looking up and being surrounded by bright white lined branches. Oh the magic. We each had at least three hats and gloves on string in rotation with the heat vents. We never wanted to come in and didn’t feel the cold. Wonderful memories.

Here’s my journaling I did tonight. I had a couple of irruptions. I hear an Aurora pacing in the family room behind me. She’s waiting for snow day talks at night. So, before bed I’ll reread my list out loud and inside my head.

Also today I did my weekly grocery shopping and when I was putting the cart away I noticed a bunch of trash. The last two days were above freezing so all the snow from before melted away leaving the trash exposed. So, I picked up what I could and found this. I thought it was funny because I said to find a rock or stone today and maybe it would cross your path. Path crossed! The first time I ever heard my inner voice it told me to pick up litter; I have been ever since. So, I have two gratitude rocks for this challenge.

I am going to keep this new stone by my bed and keep my other one on me to remind me to find something grateful in every situation when I touch it. If you don’t have pockets maybe just think of the best part of your day before you go to bed. Think of it and remember how you feel. Place your hand around your item and remind yourself of that moment.

Ohh the feels.

For tomorrow, day 3, you need three pictures of three of your close relationships. Three people. You can have actual photos or take some screenshots and put three photos in your favorites in your phone together and in the same place for this challenge. Throughout the day tomorrow you’re going to look into the picture, into their eyes and say “Thank you, ______” I’ll definitely have a picture of my husband because he’s my closest relationship. So I’ll say at least three times during the day. “Thank you Jon” while looking into his eyes in the picture.

Have magical day and night!

I’m constantly surrounded by farts, in all serious I am. Three stepsons—12,17,20 one gaseous daughter of 11, and a hungry husband, whose been trying to ditch oven me for the last three years! (I’m a ninja though, so he hasn’t succeeded yet 😉) Right now, I’m making my way through College- about a year and a half left, and then I’ll have a Bachelor’s degree in English and hopefully a book published or at least become a literary agent. In these posts I’m going to cheerfully complain about my kids complaining and the awful smells I endure on a regular basis. Hope ya’ll have fun reading from this artsy Michigander! 😏
